Sesc_Videobrasil Announces Winners of 21st Contemporary Art Biennial

Over the weekend, the 21st Sesc_Videobrasil Contemporary Art Biennial revealed its award winners. The recipients include Aykan Safoglu from Turkey, Dana Awartani from Saudi Arabia, Gabriela Golder from Argentina, Nelson Makengo from the Democratic Republic of Congo, No Martins from Brazil, Roney Freitas & Isael Maxakali from Brazil, Omar Mismar from Lebanon, Thanh Hoang from Vietnam, and Movimento de Luta nos Bairros, Vilas e Favelas from Brazil. Awards consist of residency projects, honorable mentions, and acquisitions for the Sesc Contemporary Art Collection, with each winner receiving a trophy designed by Alexandre da Cunha. The Biennial, themed 'Imagined Communities,' is open from October 9, 2019, to February 2, 2020, at Sesc 24 de Maio in São Paulo, offering free entry.
