Serpentine Pavilion's Young Architects Challenge Announces 2015 Winners
To commemorate the 15th anniversary of its Pavilion commission, the Serpentine initiated the Build Your Own Pavilion competition in 2015, aimed at young architects aged 8-14. This initiative garnered 600 submissions, categorized into two groups: 8-10 and 11-14 years old. Among the winners was 10-year-old Jasmine from Teddington, whose design was inspired by spider webs, and 13-year-old Nahida from Tower Hamlets, London, who envisioned a transparent, hill-like structure designed as a rentable studio. Online access is available for additional entries from runners-up in both age groups. The jury featured Serpentine directors Julia Peyton-Jones and Hans Ulrich Obrist, along with selgascano, David Glover, and Dejan Mitrovic. The results were revealed on 4 February 2016.
