Sergio Ragalzi Returns to Galleria L'Attico with Screaming Monkeys

exhibition · 2026-05-05

After fifteen years, Sergio Ragalzi (Turin, 1951) returns to Galleria L'Attico in Rome with a new exhibition that introduces "word" as an element. The show features eight three-by-three-meter screaming monkeys on black backgrounds, rendered in white, that extend beyond the canvas. The figures appear spectral as lights, shadows, and sounds alternate, creating an experiential work combining Ragalzi's restless iconography with the visionary approach of gallerist Fabio Sargentini and curator Elsa Agalbado, who call themselves "theatrical animals."
