Sergio Casoli Returns to Rome with New Gallery and Getulio Alviani Show
Galleria Studio Casoli has opened in Rome's Piazza Costaguti, in the historic Ghetto district, with the exhibition "Iperluce" dedicated to Getulio Alviani, master of kinetic and programmed art, on view until February 28, 2026. The show, organized in collaboration with Diora Fraglica and the Centro Studi Archivio e Ricerche Getulio Alviani, draws from the major retrospective held at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Tokyo in 2025, presenting 14 works from 1962 to 1990. These include Alviani's early "Superfici a testura vibratile" from the 1960s, which defined his poetics, and later pieces exploring light as a dynamic, mutable element. Sergio Casoli's history is rooted in Milan at Corso Monforte 23, the former studio of Lucio Fontana from 1952 to 1968. After Fontana's death, his widow Teresita Rasini entrusted the space to Casoli in 1985. Casoli later opened a gallery in Rome's Via della Vetrina in the late 1990s, active for three years. In 2018, he returned to Rome with a gallery alongside Mattia De Luca, which later became solely De Luca's. Now Casoli inaugurates a new small space near Piazza Margana.
