Sergio Bonelli Editore to Launch Legs Weaver Animated Series

digital · 2026-04-26

Sergio Bonelli Editore, Italy's leading comic book publisher known for Tex and Dylan Dog, is expanding into animation with a new series centered on Legs Weaver, a character created in the early 1990s by Michele Medda, Antonio Serra, and Bepi Vigna. Initially a protagonist in the Nathan Never series, Legs Weaver became the subject of her own comic book series from 1995 to 2005. She is an agent for the Agenzia Alfa and is considered the first female serial heroine of Bonelli's science fiction lineup. The animated series is produced by Bonelli Entertainment in collaboration with Rai Kids, announced at the Salone del Libro di Torino in May 2024. A teaser has been released, but no official release date is set. Giovanni Mattioli, Story Editor, noted the character's vibrant personality and the urban sci-fi setting as key reasons for the adaptation. Vincenzo Sarno, head of development, called the production an epochal step for Bonelli Entertainment and part of the Bonelli Cinematic Universe, combining the company's heritage with innovative production techniques.
