Serge Lasvignes, Former Centre Pompidou President, Dies at 71

Serge Lasvignes, who served as the president of the Centre Pompidou from 2015 until 2021, has passed away. He was born in 1954 and completed his studies at ENA in 1989. Prior to his public service career, he taught language and literature. His previous positions included Director of General and International Affairs from 1995 to 1996 and Director of Legal Affairs from 1996 to 1997 at the Ministry of National Education. In 2005, he became a State Councillor and held the position of General Secretary of the Government from 2006 to 2015. While at the Centre Pompidou, he managed significant projects, such as the Centre Pompidou × West Bund Museum in Shanghai (2019) and the Málaga renewal (2020). He also organized a decentralized event for the institution's fortieth anniversary in 2016. After 2021, he was at the helm of the National Commission for the Control of Intelligence Techniques.
