Serbian medieval heritage in Kosovo explored at Mexico City exhibition

There's a new temporary exhibit called 'Serbian Medieval Heritage in Danger' at the National Museum of World Cultures in Mexico City. It takes us through more than 700 years of history and artistry from the Balkans. The show highlights four important religious sites in Kosovo: Dečani Monastery, Patriarchate of Peć, Gračanica Monastery, and the Church of the Virgin of Ljeviš. All of these sites are on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and have been marked as endangered for the past twenty years due to ongoing political issues and preservation struggles. The exhibit particularly emphasizes the vulnerability of these medieval buildings, especially the Church of the Virgin of Ljeviš, which is still facing challenges.
