September 2025's Major Exhibitions Span São Paulo to Seoul
The 36th Bienal de São Paulo, under the curation of Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, is set to commence on 6 September 2025 at the Ciccillo Matarazzo Pavilion. Titled 'Not All Travellers Walk Roads', it will showcase artists such as Ana Raylander Mártis dos Anjos, Frank Bowling, Huguette Caland, and Lynn Hershman Leeson, and will be open until 11 January 2026. Meanwhile, Berlin's HKW will host 'Global Fascisms' from 13 September to 7 December, featuring fifty artists including Maria Lassnig and Mimi Ọnụọha. The 18th Istanbul Biennial, named 'The Three-Legged Cat', begins on 20 September, while Hayv Kahraman's 'Ghost Fires' opens in New York on 11 September. The Okayama Art Summit 2025 will take place from 26 September to 24 November. Lee Bul's retrospective will be available until 4 January 2026, and Omara Mara Oláh's exhibition runs from 5 September to 4 October. The inaugural Bukhara Biennial will be held from 5 September to 20 November, and 'Eyewitness' will debut on 20 September 2025 in Norwich.
