Seoul Museum of Art Presents UAE Contemporary Art Exhibition 'Proximities' Through March 2026

From December 16, 2025, to March 29, 2026, the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) will present 'Proximities: Contemporary Art from the United Arab Emirates.' This exhibition, co-curated by Eunju Kim and Maya El Khalil, showcases over 110 pieces created by 47 artists from the UAE, organized into three distinct chapters. It is a collaborative effort with the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF). The exhibition delves into the similarities between contemporary societies in Korea and the UAE. Notable pieces include 'Qatra Qatra' (2025) by Rashed Qurwash, 'Dictionary' (2015) by Hassan Sharif, and Kholoud Sharafi's branding for the UAE's National Days. 'Proximities' redefines traditional cultural diplomacy by focusing on personal viewpoints and societal changes.
