Sennheiser has launched the HD 480 Pro studio headphones, retailing at $479, aimed at providing high-quality closed-back monitoring for both studio and live settings. The company asserts that these headphones tackle two prevalent issues associated with closed-back designs: precise low-end sound and comfort for prolonged use. Jimmy R. Landry, Sennheiser's Category Market Manager for the Music Industry, noted that the HD 480 Pro offers improved bass accuracy over other closed-back options. Senior Product Manager Gunnar Dirks highlighted the importance of comfort for professionals, mentioning the design's ability to relieve pressure points and accommodate glasses. The headphones incorporate advanced passive sound isolation, a Vibration Attenuation System, and a detachable coiled cable for flexibility. Included in the package are a nine-foot coiled cable, a carrying case, and replacement parts like ear pads. Independent filmmakers and video editors may particularly benefit from the headphones' sound isolation and reproduction capabilities during production and editing.
