Seminiamo Arte VI edition explores adolescence at MuBAq L'Aquila
The sixth edition of Seminiamo Arte, titled 'adolescĕre,' opens June 10, 2026 at One Gallery in L'Aquila, Italy, as part of L'Aquila Italian Capital of Culture 2026. Curated by WinMill in collaboration with Women Visual Artists Database, the exhibition invites international female artists to reflect on adolescence through works on paper accompanied by texts. Over 100 artists, including Margherita Abbozzo, Debby Akam, and Lucilla Catania, contribute pieces exploring physical and psychological transformation. The project will travel to multiple cities and nations, featuring talks, performances, and public interactions, especially with adolescents. After the exhibition, works and texts will be compiled into an artist's book donated to a public institution, with a free digital edition available. Seminiamo Arte, founded in 2021 during the pandemic in the post-seismic village of San Lorenzo, continues under the direction of Lea Contestabile and Antonio Gasbarrini, aiming to regenerate civic identity through contemporary art. For L'Aquila 2026, the program includes sections on Art and Nature, Art and Spirituality, Public Art, Relational Art, Artist Residencies, and Workshops across multiple venues, including the Convent of S. Angelo d'Ocre, Monastery of S. Basilio, and Palazzo Camponeschi.
