Seminaria Sogninterra: biennial festival transforms Maranola into immersive art experience

The biennial festival Seminaria Sogninterra took place in Maranola, a hilltop village between Formia and Gaeta, Italy. Curated by Isabella Indolfi and Marianna Fazzi, the event turned the entire borgo into a venue for site-specific installations. The 2016 theme was 'scala 1:1' (1:1 scale), emphasizing dialogue between art and reality. Artists included Davide Dormino, Giacomo Lion, Anna Frantis, Aurora Meccanica, Laura Cionci, Emanuela Ascari, Gino Sabatini Odoardi, Stalker, Alexandra Demienteva, Saverio Todaro, Delphine Valli, and Alexei Krostoma. Works ranged from Dormino's wire installation on the main gate to Stalker's bed of corn husk leaves. The festival engaged residents who offered spaces and hospitality.
