SelgasCano becomes first Spanish practice to design Serpentine Pavilion for 2015
The architecture firm SelgasCano, established in 1998 by José Selgas and Lucía Cano and based in Madrid, has been chosen to design the 2015 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion. This selection is significant as it is the first time a Spanish architectural studio has been awarded this prestigious annual project. Renowned for their innovative use of synthetic materials, bold colors, and technology that reflects nature, the studio will present their design in February 2015. This pavilion will be the fifteenth temporary installation at the Serpentine Gallery, following notable architects like Zaha Hadid, who created the first pavilion in 2000, and others such as Smiljan Radić (2014) and Sou Fujimoto (2013).
