Seletti designs new cans for Sanpellegrino's Sicily's (R)evolution project

other · 2026-04-27

Sanpellegrino has launched Sicily's (R)evolution, a circular economy project that transforms orange peels from beverage production into design objects. The initiative involves Krill Design, which converts the peels into biopolymers for 3D printing, and Seletti, which designed a collection of eco-design items including a table lamp, a glacette, a tray, and the graphics for the Limited Edition cans. The cans feature pop-style illustrations of orange peels as lifebuoys, hot air balloons, and parachutes. Fratelli Branca, the Sicilian orange supplier for over 40 years, also participates. The project aims to valorize the entire fruit, emphasizing sustainability and innovation. Stefano Marini, CEO of Sanpellegrino Group, stated the project represents a concrete commitment to environmental sustainability. Stefano Seletti, artistic director of Seletti, noted the collaboration was inspired by the fruit itself. The collection keeps the memory of the material alive by mimicking citrus shapes and textures.
