Seeyousound 2020: 10-day music film festival returns to Turin with 99 films and 64 events
The sixth edition of Seeyousound, Italy's first music-themed film festival, runs from February 21 to March 1 in Turin, featuring 99 films and video clips across 64 events, including 24 Italian premieres, 3 world premieres, 1 international premiere, and 1 original production. The festival opens with an homage to British filmmaker Julien Temple, who presents his latest silent film 'Ibiza – The Silent Movie' (co-directed with Fatboy Slim) and three other works. Live soundtracks accompany screenings by artists including Christophe Chassol, Marlene Kuntz, Massimo Zamboni, and Patrizio Fariselli. Visual artist Donato Sansone creates the artwork for GruVillage 105 Music Festival's 15th anniversary, exhibited at Cinema Massimo. A virtual reality experience by Molécule, Jan Kounen, and Amaury La Burthe titled '-22.7°C' is hosted at Recontemporary and La Rinascente. Oggetti Specifici gallery presents a solo show of Sansone's preparatory drawings and storyboards, including the original storyboard for 'Bavure' (César Award semi-finalist). Sky Arte partners as media partner, previewing the series 'Stili Ribelli' on fashion and music, with a masterclass by Benedetta Barzini. The festival is organized by Associazione Seeyousound under director Carlo Griseri, with patronage from Museo Nazionale del Cinema and Città di Torino.
