SecretOPOS: Milan's hidden cultural space launches with Giulio Alvigini show

A new cultural space in Milan's Certosa district, secretOPOS, has launched with a surprise solo exhibition by Giulio Alvigini titled 'Le solite scritte'. The space, a former electro-fitting factory, operates on a monthly invitation-only opening event where guests know nothing in advance, followed by a public opening for the following month. The inaugural exhibition, curated by Andrea Meregalli and organized with Magazzeno Arte Contemporanea, runs from March 27 to April 23, 2024. Alvigini, known for his satirical Instagram account Make Italian Art Great Again, presents works including a 5x3 meter banner reading 'Tutto già visto', a hidden piece 'La pittura ormai A rutt i paL e', and a 24-meter site-specific text 'È tutta una performance'. The opening featured performances by Gregorio Baù, Sebastiano Ratti, Duccio Zanone, musician Giovanni Falascone, dancer Sofia Gattamorta, and actors Giulia Donini, Jona Franchini, Claudia Manuelli, Marica Pace, and Sofia Parola. The space also showcases products from ethical brands NONNO (a clothing and food project by OPOS) and NATURALBOOM (a natural plant-based energy drink). secretOPOS is co-created by Andrea Meregalli, Dora Casadio, Gregorio Baù, Sebastiano Ratti, and Duccio Zanone, leveraging the former industrial showroom of Alberto Zanone.
