Secret 7” Returns for 10th Anniversary with Sleeves by Orlando Weeks, Joy Yamusangie, Murugiah

War Child UK's Secret 7” record sale returns for its tenth anniversary, featuring over 5,000 one-of-a-kind records and raising nearly £1 million for charity. The initiative invites artists, designers, and illustrators to create unique sleeve designs for seven tracks from seven artists, each pressed 100 times for 700 original sleeves. Bidders purchase anonymously, learning the track and artist only after the auction ends. Notable contributors include ceramicist Clare Twomey MBE, Berlin Wall muralist Thierry Noir, Orlando Weeks (The Maccabees), Justin Frischmann (Elastica), The Cure cover designer Andy Vella, Haçienda interior designer Ben Kelly, Anthony Burrill, Sumuyya Khader, Joey Yu, and Murugiah, who created an exclusive B-side etching. Past participants include Anish Kapoor, Yoko Ono, Peter Blake, and Ai Weiwei. Sleeves have been made from concrete, felt, Lego, clay, and stitch work. Benefiting War Child UK, which supports children in Sudan, Ukraine, Gaza, and Afghanistan, the musical artists include The Last Dinner Party, Glass Animals, Bastille, The Maccabees, John Lennon, Gabrielle, and Skin. All 700 sleeves will be exhibited at 180 Studios in London from 18–30 August 2026, with an online auction running 18 August to 2 September 2026.
