Second View App Turns iPhone into Analog Photography Toolkit
Benoit Linard has launched an iOS app called Second View, aimed at providing essential tools for analog photographers all in one place. This app includes a light meter, a distance calculator using LiDAR (for iPhone 12 and up), features for parallax correction, and rise/shift simulation for view cameras. It also covers reciprocity failure curves for 60 film types and supports various formats, ranging from 35mm to large format (4×5, 5×8). Users can save their camera setups, and the app tracks long exposure metadata like focal length and GPS data. Initially designed to support Linard's 3D-printed camera project, it's available for iOS 16 or newer in two tiers: Pro at $14.99/year and Basic at $7.99/year.
