Second edition of Nuovo Forno del Pane Outdoor Edition in Bologna

The second edition of Nuovo Forno del Pane Outdoor Edition, promoted by MAMbo – Museo d'Arte Moderna di Bologna, concluded successfully in summer 2024. Curated by Lorenzo Balbi, Caterina Molteni, and Sabrina Samorì, the project involved six artists in a three-month residency across the metropolitan territory of Bologna. The artists—Andrea Di Lorenzo, Adele Dipasquale, Letizia Lucchetti, Marco Mandolini, Gianlorenzo Nardi, and Gaetano Palermo—developed their work between April and July 2024 in six different locations, each exploring local peculiarities and building connections. The residency included a public program with urban explorations, open drawing lessons, phytoalimentary workshops, and video screenings. A video trailer and a publication documenting the research and activities were produced; the publication, edited by Caterina Molteni, includes texts by Molteni, Lorenzo Balbi (director of MAMbo and co-curator), and Eva Degl'Innocenti (director of Settore Musei Civici Bologna), along with sections on each artist's work. The project, born during the pandemic and now permanent, aims to support the art world and creative community by selecting and sustaining six artists annually.
