Sebastião Salgado's Glacier Exhibition Opens in Trento and Rovereto
An impressive display featuring more than 60 images by Sebastião Salgado, named 'Ghiacciai' (Glaciers), has been inaugurated in Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, at the Mart – Museo di arte moderna e contemporanea di Rovereto (50 pieces) and the Muse – Museo delle Scienze di Trento. This initiative, organized by the Trento Film Festival in collaboration with Contrasto and Studio Salgado, is overseen by Gabriele Lorenzoni and Luca Scoz. Lélia Wanick Salgado serves as the curator, emphasizing glaciers devoid of human influence or color. Climatologist Elisa Palazzi highlights the vital role of glaciers in regulating the Earth's climate and supplying drinking water to two billion individuals. Additionally, the UN has designated 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Conservation. The exhibition includes numerous previously unpublished works.
