Seashore Trolley Museum Joins 2026 Blue Star Museums Initiative
The Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport, Maine, will be a Blue Star Museum in 2026, offering free admission to active military personnel and their families from Armed Forces Day on May 16 through Labor Day on September 7. This program, now in its 14th iteration, involves partnerships between the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and numerous museums nationwide. Katie Orlando, the Executive Director, noted that this marks the museum's seventh year participating. Both NEA Chairman Mary Anne Carter and Blue Star Families CEO Kathy Roth-Douquet spoke about how important museums are for building community and creating memories. The museum is at 195 Log Cabin Road and operates weekends in May and Wednesday to Sunday from June to Halloween.
