Sean White's 'La costellazione del Dragone' Challenges Anti-Chinese Prejudice in Italy

During the COVID-19 crisis, Chinese author Zhang Changxiao, also recognized as Sean White, released 'La costellazione del Dragone' (Piemme editions) to address psychosis and bias against Chinese individuals in Italy. Set in Milan's Chinatown, the book humorously examines cultural similarities and differences from a Chinese viewpoint. The prefaces by Roberto Vecchioni and Mogol shed light on common stereotypes that are often misunderstood. White clarifies issues such as the association of 'Made in China' with poor quality and notes that dog consumption is not widespread in China. Having moved to Italy eight years ago and fallen in love with the language, he previously published 'Creuza de Mao' and is also a music critic, cultural mediator, and painter, who contributed masks during the pandemic.
