Sean Nicholas Savage to Perform at POPUP! on May 11

Canadian singer-songwriter Sean Nicholas Savage will perform at the POPUP! event on May 11. Known for his bittersweet ballads and raw live performances, Savage recently released the album 'Shine', which explores themes of reclaiming the will to live after sadness and stagnation. The album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Mac DeMarco, featuring guitar as the primary instrument—a departure from his previous work. Savage drew inspiration from Tatsuro Yamashita and Elliott Smith. The pandemic stifled his creativity, but a solitary stay on the Greek island of Crete sparked a return to songwriting. He recorded a voice memo while falling asleep, later transcribing the lyrics in Berlin. 'Shine' emphasizes love and healing both thematically and sonically. The performance is part of the POPUP! event series.
