Scullion Architects completes Park Pavilion extension in Dublin
Dublin-based Scullion Architects has completed Park Pavilion, a compact home extension elevated above a sloping garden to maximize views of nearby Phoenix Park. The project adds a home office space connected via a first-floor glazed link. Exterior materials include slender granite columns and a granite facade referencing the main house, while the interior features cherrywood carpentry, terrazzo floors, and built-in storage. The design draws on SOM's 1960s office interiors for its study and Sir John Soane's Pitzhanger Manor for the exterior. White curtains modulate light for focused work. Studio founder Declan Scullion emphasized atmosphere and psychological well-being alongside function. The extension creates a storage area below wrapped in black metal railings. Scullion Architects was founded in 2016.
