exhibition · 2026-04-22

The Saudi Ministry of Culture is currently hosting an exhibition titled 'Scripts and Calligraphy: Paths to the Soul.' This is the second part of a series featuring 57 calligraphers and contemporary artists from 19 different countries, with 15 of them from Saudi Arabia. The exhibit runs until September 2, 2023, at the Old Irqah Hospital in Riyadh, then it will shift to the Madinah Art Center from October 15 to December 23. Curated by a team of international experts in Arab and Islamic art, it explores the spiritual significance of calligraphy and its influence worldwide. It includes 116 artworks organized into themes like Light, Letter, Space, and Poetry, with notable pieces such as 'A Pen Creak' and 'Dhikr.' The first edition, 'A Timeless Journey,' was held in 2021 at the Saudi National Museum, celebrating master calligrapher Khodeir El-Borsaidy.
