Screen City Biennial explores migration and technology in Stavanger

From October 12 to 31, 2017, Stavanger, Norway, will host the third edition of the Screen City Biennial, the inaugural Nordic biennial dedicated to moving images in public settings. Established in 2013 and curated by Tanya Toft and Daniela Arriado, this event investigates the interplay of image, sound, new technologies, and urban environments. The primary location will be the port area of Stavanger, highlighting themes of globalization and migration. Titled Migrating Stories, the theme links human migration with moving images through diverse experiences and installations. Additional venues include the Kunstmuseum and Concert Hall. Featured artists such as Budhaditya Chattopadhyay, Dana Levy, and Yucef Merhi will present works focused on migration, transformation, and alienation.
