Scegli il Contemporaneo returns to Rome with artists as tour guides

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

From April 22 to May 25, 2021, Rome hosts the tenth edition of Scegli il Contemporaneo, themed 'Tutte le immagini del mondo.' Established by Elena Lydia Scipioni in 2017, this initiative aims to engage the public with contemporary art through various activities, including workshops, guided tours, and events. This year's focus examines the relationship between art and science, emphasizing themes of mutation, permanence, and societal shifts. In response to the pandemic, the program incorporates both in-person and digital formats. The lineup features eleven events with artists such as Emilio Fantin, Hitnes, Nunzio, Cesare Pietroiusti, and filmmaker Roland Sejko, taking place at venues like Palazzo Barberini and MAXXI. Reservations are necessary for free in-person events, with the first scheduled for April 22 at 3 PM.
