Scattered Memories: Sudanese Artists Reassemble Memory Across Borders
This May, the Goethe-Institut Kairo will present 'Scattered Memories,' an exhibition launched by the Goethe-Institut Sudan in partnership with the Humboldt Forum Berlin. This event embarks on a transcontinental exploration, reflecting the dispersal it examines. Over a span of three days, the venue transforms into a sensory experience, blending collage, film, music, performance, food, and storytelling to investigate how memory is formed, altered, and collectively understood across diverse landscapes. Highlighting Sudanese artists, the exhibition serves as a platform for voices addressing themes of displacement and continuity. Public activities will feature discussions, guided tours, and communal traditions, including the customary coffee corner. The exhibition is scheduled from 1 to 3 May 2026.
