Scarabocchi Festival in Novara Draws Pericoli, Mattotti for Drawing Celebration

The Scarabocchi festival, dedicated to drawing, will take place in Novara from September 12 to 14, 2025. Curated by Marco Belpoliti, this edition is titled 'U-MANI' and focuses on the theme of hands. The festival is organized by the Fondazione Circolo dei lettori, directed by Giuseppe Culicchia, in collaboration with Doppiozero. Events will be held at various locations across the Piedmontese capital, including Galleria Giannoni and Sala Arengo. Notable participants include Tullio Pericoli, who will dialogue with Giuseppe Di Napoli on September 13, and Lorenzo Mattotti, who will present his collection 'La linea fragile' on September 14. Other guests include visual artist Elisa Seitzinger, palmreader Angie Soleluna, the collective Niente da dire, designer Viola Sanguinetti, scenographer Camilla Fasola, and showteller Arturo Brachetti. The festival features workshops for children and adults, exploring multisensory materials and pop-up techniques. Culicchia emphasized the relevance of the theme in an era of conflict and dehumanization, highlighting the hand as a tool for communication and creation.
