Scandinavian Fashion Takes Center Stage at Pitti Uomo 2022
The Scandinavian Manifesto project, a partnership between Pitti and Revolver Copenhagen, highlighted Nordic fashion innovation at Pitti Uomo. Notable brands included By Death, Berner Khul, Palmes, Adnym Atelier, BLK DNM, Wood Wood, and Les Deux. Wood Wood unveiled its inaugural collection under the direction of Dominic Huckbody, who previously worked with Burberry, Wales Bonner, Givenchy, and Martine Rose. This collection featured hand-painted knitwear influenced by action painting and a trench coat created in collaboration with Hangcock. Rue de Tokyo showcased soft tailoring using fresh materials like seersucker and linen blends from Italy, along with digitally altered Hawaiian prints. Additionally, Soulland presented a runway show at the Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino, featuring a gender-fluid, sustainable line that blended rock-inspired leather, 1970s velvet suits, and streetwear with bicolor lace.
