Scalo Milano Opens with Design District and Art Spaces
Scalo Milano, a new open-air luxury retail complex in Locate Triulzi, 20 minutes from Milan's Porta Venezia, opened with two distinctive features: a design district and an art quarter. The design district hosts flagship stores of high-end brands like Cappellini, Moroso, B&B, and Vitra. Vitra's space showcases a Home Collection including classics by Charles & Ray Eames and Jean Prouvé alongside contemporary pieces like Jasper Morrison's Soft Modular Sofa. The art quarter, curated by Bruna Roccasalva, features rotating exhibitions by artists Alice Ronchi and Santo Tolone. Tolone's installation 'Le Vie d’Acqua' transforms the space into an aquarium-like display visible only from outside through large windows. Ronchi's 'Greetings' installation includes a neon sign, a performer cleaning windows, and a video inspired by Jacques Tati films, exploring the concept of welcome through everyday gestures.
