Sazerac Launches First Tennessee Whiskey A.J. Bond

other · 2026-06-02

Sazerac, famous for Buffalo Trace, has launched its first Tennessee whiskey called A.J. Bond. This new brand pays tribute to John Lunn, a master distiller, and Allisa Henley, a master blender, both of whom worked at George Dickel before Sazerac acquired Avery's Trail Distillery in Newport, Tennessee, in 2016. Lunn sadly passed away in 2023. The whiskey is made from a secret mashbill and is distilled using both column and pot stills, undergoing the Lincoln County Process before aging. It’s bottled at 95 proof after blending separately aged components. Ingredients include corn from Batey Farms and barrels crafted from Tennessee oak. Tasting notes suggest flavors like wedding cake and baked apple. Priced at $40, this flagship whiskey aims to raise Tennessee whiskey standards.
