Saype's Land Art Installation 'Beyond Walls' Arrives in Turin
French-Swiss street artist Saype (born Guillaume Legros, 1989) has completed his land art project 'Beyond Walls – Oltre i muri' in Turin. The installation features two arms painted on grass with eco-friendly spray, clasping each other across the city's ancient Roman ruins, specifically the Porta Palatina archaeological park. This work is part of a global chain of murals that began at the Eiffel Tower in Paris in June 2019, aiming to cover all five continents within five years across over twenty cities. Turin marks the seventh stop. The project was commissioned by Lavazza in collaboration with the City of Turin to support the city's recovery after the health emergency, aligning with the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Francesca Lavazza, Board Member of Lavazza Group, emphasized the importance of public-private partnership for community benefit. The initiative also includes Saype's first solo exhibition, on view until January 17, 2021, at the Galleria Sabauda of the Musei Reali, which is among the project's supporters.
