Sawtooth House: Victorian Terrace Gets Industrial-Inspired Extension in Kingston upon Thames

Francesco Pierazzi Architects has completed Sawtooth House, a renovation and extension of a Victorian terraced house in Kingston upon Thames, UK. The project replaces an outdated rear extension with a contemporary addition that draws inspiration from the town's industrial heritage, specifically the sawtooth roof profiles of former manufacturing buildings. The 180 m² project was completed in 2024 and features materials and systems from suppliers including Cortizo, PoaloInteriors, Velux, and Wienerberger Koramic. The design team included lead architect Francesco Pierazzi Architects, main contractor Nathan Dew/MMMJ, structural engineer Harrison Shortt Structural Engineers, building control by Vantage Building Control, and joinery by Ashton Woodcraft.
