Savoir and Ozwald Boateng Collaborate on Handcrafted Bed
Since 1905, Savoir, a British company renowned for crafting custom beds, has collaborated with British Ghanaian designer Ozwald Boateng to introduce the Authenticity bed. Boateng, who established his Savile Row studio in 2002 and stands out as one of the few designers of color on that prestigious street, infused his unique design style into this creation. The bed boasts a uniquely shaped headboard made of handcrafted solid oak, upholstered in a custom woven leather inspired by traditional Kente cloth, developed with Alma. Additional features include a base upholstered in Whistler Leather’s embossed “Tangier Onyx,” black-stained oak trim, and a green-finished reverse headboard. Each bed, crafted by a single artisan, takes over 200 hours to complete and has a lead time of 16 to 18 weeks. The Authenticity will be displayed at Savoir’s Mayfair flagship starting May 16, with pricing available upon request.
