Saul Marcadent's Password Project Blends Podcast, Video, and Performance

Saul Marcadent, a curator and researcher at IUAV in Venice, has launched a multifaceted project called "Password" in collaboration with Federico Pepe of Le Dictateur and eight curators. The project spans podcast, video, text, theatrical interpretation, graphic design, and sound art. Each week for two months, a new "password" is released every Friday on Artribune, accompanied by a short interview with the curator. The first password is "Intimismo," voiced by actor Pierluigi Corallo. Marcadent discusses the impact of the COVID-19 lockdown, describing it as a period of multiple temporalities—lazy, slow, suspended, reflective, impatient, and confident. He emphasizes the importance of human relationships and expresses concern for small publishers, noting that while online sales performed well during lockdown, recovery will be uphill. He calls for a collective redesign of the future, advocating for a "human-scale" approach and citing the work of Motus at Santarcangelo Festival as an example. Marcadent criticizes the tendency for casual commentary and the inability to pause and reflect.
