Saudi students train in conservation at La Venaria Reale
The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) in Saudi Arabia has joined forces with Italy's Centro Conservazione e Restauro "La Venaria Reale" (CCR) to educate 12 young Saudis in the field of cultural heritage conservation from July 2023 through February 2024. This initiative will involve six recent graduates in chemistry and biology, along with six officials from RCU, who will engage in workshops and lessons at the Reggia di Venaria. Emphasizing mentorship and community involvement, this cultural exchange will conclude with a ceremony in AlUla, known for its archaeological treasures like Hegra. This partnership was established following a Memorandum of Understanding signed on May 19 by Italian Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano and Saudi Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan AlSau.
