Sau Taller d'Arquitectura renovates early 20th-century houses into seven apartments in Badalona

architecture-design · 2026-05-16

Sau Taller d'Arquitectura has completed the rehabilitation and expansion of two attached early 20th-century houses at the corner of Carrer del Triomf and Carrer de Planas i Casals in Badalona, Spain. The project transforms the structures into a three-story building containing seven residential units. The apartments are organized around a central service core, with new facade openings that maintain the proportions and dimensions of the original architecture. The design integrates into the consolidated urban fabric, values the historical memory of the site, and improves living conditions. The project area is 664 m² with a budget of €830,175. The architectural team includes Pol Jordà i Sala and Lluís Jordà i Sala as architects, Lluís Jordà i Sala as quantity surveyor, Santi Rodríguez Fernández as health and safety coordinator, Blai Cabrero Bosch as project manager, Magda González Vázquez and Sergi Gómez Sánchez as interior designers, and EINA CORP SL as developer. Photographs were taken by Andrés Flajszer.
