Satyress, a startup based in California, has introduced Threehalves, a humanoid robot resembling a centaur that stands 7 feet tall and is designed for dangerous work settings. With a human-like upper body equipped for power tools and four legs for traversing challenging landscapes, it targets professionals such as builders and foresters operating in extreme environments. Founder Beau Gaston revealed the robot on X last year, having worked on it since 2022. Its formidable appearance features sharp horns and illuminated eyes. Safety mechanisms ensure it cannot pass through standard doors and can be shut down instantly. Its modular parts allow for easy replacement, and it fits in a pickup truck bed.
