Satellite.6 at Jeu de Paume Explores the Exhibition as Event
The sixth edition of Jeu de Paume's Satellite program, curated by Mathieu Copeland, runs from May 28 to September 1, 2013, under the title "Une exposition – un événement." The exhibition examines the nature of exhibitions as impermanent events. Tim Etchells presents Live Forever, a daily melting ice sculpture that leaves a puddle, and Fight Posters, which display absurd confrontations. Maria Eichhorn's work subverts institutional mechanisms: she distributes free tickets randomly via the box office software, questioning how art appears.
