SARP Gallery Opens in Linguaglossa at the Foot of Mount Etna
In the spring of 2023, the SARP Gallery was inaugurated in Linguaglossa as part of the Sicily Artist in Residence Program, established by economist Alfio Puglisi. Since its inception in 2019, SARP has sought to elevate Sicily's presence in cultural discussions, utilizing a repurposed hazelnut warehouse from the 1950s and a historic palazzo featuring a lava flow dating back to 1180. The gallery's first exhibition, Terra Etna, showcases ten pieces by Anglo-Argentine artist Leo Orta (b. 1993, Paris), inspired by the theme of erosion. Additionally, it presents Temporary Like Forever by Austrian artist Hanna Burkart (b. 1989, Vienna). In 2025, SARP plans to exhibit artists from Latin America, Northern Europe, and the Mediterranean. Puglisi is also set to launch a podcast, Art Destinations, on May 20, 2024.
