Sardinia's Craft Fairs: Mogoro and Samugheo Showcase Artisanal Heritage

Sardinia recently held two summer craft festivals that highlighted local artisanal practices. The 56th Fiera dell'artigianato artistico della Sardegna took place in Mogoro from late July to early September 2024, drawing in 9,000 attendees and generating considerable income, with 80% stemming from crafts. The event showcased a variety of materials, including ceramics, textiles, metals, glass, wood, and leather, featuring prominent cooperatives such as Su Trobasciu and Su Màrmuri, with the exhibition designed by architect Francesca Picciau. Concurrently, the 50th Tessingiu commenced in mid-July in Samugheo, spotlighting artisans across different disciplines, under the design of architect Roberto Virdis, alongside workshops organized by Alessandra Guigoni.
