Sardegna Film Commission Marks 10 Years of Cinema Growth
The Fondazione Sardegna Film Commission (FSFC) marks its tenth anniversary, having expanded from 7 projects in its inaugural year to 126 in the previous year, according to director Nevina Satta. The organization has facilitated over €50 million in investments for the Sardinia Region. A significant moment occurred at the Venice Film Festival a decade ago with Salvatore Mereu's Bellas Mariposas, and this year, Mereu received the Premio Bisato d'Oro for his work Bentu. FSFC has renewed its three-year partnership with Film London focused on sustainability, and at the MIA Market, they introduced Italy's first green protocol for animation. Additionally, FSFC established a public animation and gaming lab, training more than 80 young artists. Sardinian cinema made its return to Rome's Festa del Cinema with Boom: L'estate di Joe, Liz e Richard.
