Historian Sarah Fila-Bakabadio, a specialist in Black diasporas, has released a new book titled "Être une femme noire en France – Trajectoires, corps et résistances" (Éditions du Seuil, 176 pages). The work combines investigative research, personal narratives, and autobiographical reflection to examine how race and gender shape everyday experiences for Black women in France. Published on July 30, 2026, the book addresses the seemingly simple yet profound question of what it means to be a Black woman in contemporary France.
