Sara Zanin Opens z2o Project in Rome with Pier Paolo Calzolari Show
Sara Zanin, founder of the Rome-based gallery z2o, is launching a new project space called z2o Project on December 16, 2020. Located at Via Baccio Pontelli 16 in the San Saba district, the space is an apartment within a condominium designed for artist residencies and site-specific works. The inaugural exhibition, "Scritture," features recent tempera-on-salt works by Pier Paolo Calzolari (born 1943 in Bologna). The show runs through January 31, 2021, and is visitable by appointment only due to COVID-19 restrictions. Zanin conceived the space as a response to the pandemic crisis, aiming to foster intimate dialogue between artists, curators, and visitors. A publication titled "Pier Paolo Calzolari ballata bianca," with poems by Bruno Corà and Karine Marcelle Arneodo, accompanies the exhibition, published by Magonza.
