Sara Ricciardi's 'Ritmo Sabba' at SWING Gallery Benevento

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Sara Ricciardi, a Benevento-born designer based in Milan, inaugurates SWING Gallery's new space in Benevento with her exhibition 'Ritmo Sabba'. The show blends art and design, deeply rooted in local history and mythology. The title references 'sabba', a witches' gathering near the Sabato river, evoking pagan rites. Works include a luminous music box with a root mimicking witches' dancing rhythm, and shadows of branches projected on walls. A soundscape of rustling leaves and crackling fire creates an immersive atmosphere. The exhibition also features 'Memoriale Stregato', an incense burner in brass and black marble recalling fire and pyres, and a vase inspired by ikebana for spiritual elevation. Seating designs incorporate Roman-era column fragments and capitals from the gallery's courtyard, resulting in stylized capitals, tables, and maiolica benches with Lombard horse motifs. Ricciardi's performative approach and material experimentation transcend functional objects, offering a mystical-spiritual experience. The show runs at SWING Design Gallery, Benevento, 2018.
