Saodat Ismailova Wins Han Nefkens Moving Image Commission, Sunpride Foundation Announces Tokyo Exhibition for 2027

Saodat Ismailova, a filmmaker from Uzbekistan, has been awarded the first Han Nefkens Foundation Moving Image Commission, which comes with a grant of USD 100,000 for her film project centered on women's liberation and Soviet-era ideologies. This film will be showcased at Museo Reina Sofía, Singapore Art Museum, and Walker Art Center. The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo will host the fifth 'Spectrosynthesis' exhibition by the Sunpride Foundation, running from February 6 to May 16, 2027, highlighting LGBTQ+ communities in Japan and Asia. On November 19, the Anonymous Was a Woman Grants distributed USD 50,000 each to 15 women-identifying artists, while Jenny Watson was honored with the 2025 Creative Australia Visual Arts Award. Additionally, Vignesh Sundaresan launched Padimai Art & Tech Studio in Singapore on November 20, collaborating with Bernheim Gallery for regional representation in Asia Pacific.
