Saodat Ismailova's Prolific 2025 Includes Major Exhibitions and Awards

Uzbek filmmaker and artist Saodat Ismailova experienced a remarkably productive 2025, marked by five solo exhibitions and participation in more than fifteen group shows. Her work received three awards during this period. A significant institutional survey concluded in January at Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan. Following this, Ismailova presented "Abyss Between Two Mountains" at Museu Amparo in Mexico. The exhibition featured multichannel projections displayed on silk, which transformed post-Soviet Uzbek landscapes into imperial illusions. Delicate fabrics appeared to emerge from the earth's core, creating a ghostly map of disappearance. Ismailova's two-decade career focuses on subtle, gradual artistic infiltration, yet this year brought substantial recognition that aligns with her approach of strategic invisibility.
