Sanya Kantarovsky's 'Basic Failure' Opens at Palazzo Loredan During Venice Biennale

Sanya Kantarovsky’s exhibition, titled 'Basic Failure,' has just launched at Palazzo Loredan in Venice, running from May 6 to November 22, 2026, alongside the Venice Art Biennale. The exhibit showcases a diverse array of artworks, including paintings, ceramics, and a glass sculpture crafted in collaboration with a Murano studio. Kantarovsky, who hails from Moscow but grew up in New York, honed his painting skills at the Rhode Island School of Design. His pieces often feature fragmented figures that express a blend of distress and ecstasy, with themes like a dying centaur symbolizing the tension between primal urges and societal expectations. He promotes an intuitive approach to creation, drawing from both art history and his own life, encouraging viewers to engage with the art through their personal feelings.
