Santi Alleruzzo's First Solo Show at SpazioA in Pistoia

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Giuseppe Alleruzzo, director of SpazioA gallery in Pistoia, presents the first solo exhibition dedicated to his father, artist Santi Alleruzzo (Messina, 1929 – Villa San Giovanni, 2006). Curated by Davide Ferri, the show titled 'Tutta la vita' marks the tenth anniversary of the artist's death. It features a selection of small and medium-sized paintings and panels from his mature period, mostly created between the 1970s and 1980s. The works, the result of over a year of archival research, highlight Alleruzzo's deep connection to the landscape of the Strait of Messina, from which he never strayed. His style is described as a cultured, updated figuration that is prudent, never overly lyrical, composedly visionary, and at times close to abstraction. The exhibition opens on Friday, June 10, 2016, and runs until July 29, 2016, at Via Amati 13, Pistoia.
